God Created

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

This is one of the most revealing statements ever written, not only in the Bible but within every book that has ever been written. It is clear, concise and direct. It is a revelation found right here in the very first verse of the Bible, which is the top selling book of all time. It answers the great question of how this universe came into existence - God created. However this is also one of the most ignored revelations throughout history, even though the evidence for its truth is astronomically overwhelming in measure. Anyone who feels the need to ignore this revelation and look to other possibilities for the existence of creation is suppressing the truth and becoming willingly blind to the creation around them. To explore the possibilities of anything other than divine creation is to accept a theory that has absolutely no evidence to support it.

The idea of proving divine creation is difficult for some people to grasp. An idea most people can accept and adapt to is that of evidence. Once the evidence has been stacked, a person can then make an educated and logical conclusion. In our judicial system we use two primary types of evidence to prove or disprove our case; hard evidence and circumstantial. The court looks at all of the evidences put before it to determine the truth. Sometimes the evidence is so overwhelming that it leads to people concluding that one side or another has actually proved their case. Let me give an example. Lets say that in a court of law a prosecutor had to “prove” that a police officer was actually a police officer. He would open by presenting his case with exhibit A: That he wears a uniform. Exhibit B: He has a badge. Exhibit C: He receives a paycheck from the city. Exhibit D: He carries a gun. Exhibit E: He shows up everyday to work. Exhibit F: He drives a police car. Exhibit E: He graduated from the police academy. Exhibit F: Witnesses testify to his duties. Exhibit G: The prosecutor presents the hundreds of reports the officer has filed. The prosecutor may continue to provide literally hundreds of pieces of evidence. Alone these evidences may not stand, but stacked upon each other the jury would be overwhelmed with them concluding that the prosecutor has indeed proved his case.

When we begin to actually look at the evidences for Genesis 1:1 being an accurate revelation the evidences supporting its case are far more believable than even the example given above. What is amazing is that not only does the evidences support it, it begins to make all other ideas, namely evolution, look ridiculous. The theory of evolution is really a delusional one as it has failed time and time again to supply any evidence whatsoever for it, let alone proved to be accurate. Man has tried desperately to associate evolution with science, but their attempts are truly in vain - and they are therefore suppressing the truth that is being revealed all around them.

Even a casual look at God's creation will provoke our conscience to consider it. We can consider every element of creation separate from all others and be left in awe at the magnificent work of God. Space alone is a testament, without matter there would be no space. When we look at things like clouds and how they hold rain, the trees and the complexities of their leaves, the millions upon millions of fish in the seas and rivers, the many different kinds of animals, all these things are tremendous testimonies to a creator, not some cosmic force such as evolution. Evolution, no matter how much time you give it, could never produce the complexities of life. The cell, DNA, the way our ears work, the way our eyes work and are wired, they way our digestive system works, they way our circulatory system supplies blood to our heart, the way our respiratory system works, the list goes on and on. These things are supremely complex and screams that there was a master engineer of it all. One single cell has been compared to an assembly line that would stretch a mile long and produce machines that are more complex than man could ever engineer. Our DNA contains code that can not even be compared to the worlds largest encyclopedia – why would anyone think such a code could form over a period of time through some blind chance? Even if it were possible, which mathematically has been proven otherwise, how would the reproductive system evolve so that these complexities of life could reproduce?

There are great resources that reveal some of the most amazing complexities of life and these are readily available to anyone who would set their mind to actually looking. The earth is suspended in an infinite space. The very placement of Earth in this universe is so precise that it is in the only place possible in which it is able to sustain life. A biologist could take any creature and study its design and have books upon books of evidence to reveal that it could never have just been formed by itself. Each creature reveals clearly that it has a creator. A book needs an author to place the letters, words, sentences, paragraphs all in a the proper way to form the book. The book could not have formed itself. An artist can also paint the most beautiful picture and no one ever thinks that paint somehow formed then mixed together the colors to be splashed on a canvas all on its own. The painting proves there was a painter. The book proves there was an author. And it is plain, as the Word of God has clearly stated, “God Created...

There are those who like to try dispute this by asking how God himself was created, or how do we know which God created it, and the ever famous notion that if God created it he used a poor design. Faith is defined in Scripture as being certain of the things not seen. I believe by faith, which is supported by overwhelming evidence, that God exists. To believe in evolution also requires faith, but a different kind of faith. It is a blind faith. It is a faith that is not supported by observation or evidence of any kind. It is based upon presumption and a willingness to remain ignorant all in the name of a pseudo-science. It takes great effort to believe that everything in this universe is a result of blind chance. So as a creationist, I believe by faith God exists. An evolutionist also believes by faith that somehow evolution exists. But the evidence for my view is provable. To think that this creation, as complex as it is and how it works in relation to itself, came from nothing is really beyond my comprehension and does not really dignify a response. I would only challenge the best of engineers in this world to try designing something better. And then speak it into existence.

What is sad to my heart is that the theory of evolution is being taught to our youth in the public school system as if it were a fact. It is taught by museum tour guides and in literature for our national parks. It is broadcast in nature shows on television like the Discovery Channel and National Geographic. People listen to these sources as if they were the authority, without considering the actual evidence. The Bible is internally one of the greatest testimonies to the fact that it is the revelation of God. It answers the question for our existence and our creation in the very first verse...God Created.

Regardless of the denial of our Creator, there is a Creator. The Bible tells us that creation itself is proof enough for the existence of God, the Creator. There is no person that will stand before Him and be without excuse. No man or woman will ever stand before God on their judgment day and exclaim that they simply did not have enough evidence that he existed. God will simply point them to His awesome creation and they will shamefully be left without an excuse.

Romans 1:18-25 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator — who is forever praised. Amen.

Unlimited Atonement

Calvinists claim that Christ's atonement was limited because Christ could not possibly have died for all men because all men are not saved. To say that Christ died for all men when all men are not saved would make Christ's death ineffective and would deny his ability to save those whom he wanted to save. On the surface this argument seems to make sense, the problem is that while the Bible says Christ died for all men it does not say Christ died to “save” all men. The Scripture often states that Christs death was for everyone. What Calvinists seem to not realize is that it is not by his death alone that we are saved. The Scripture is very clear on this point. Christ's death reconciled us to God but it was by Christ's resurrection that men are saved. Consider the following passage:

1 Cor 15:12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

There were people who were challenging the existence of the resurrection. What did Paul say would be the result if that were true? If Christ had not been raised from the dead then Christians would still be in their sins. If Christ's blood on the cross is what saved them, how could that be true? Without the resurrection those “who have fallen asleep in Christ” would still be “lost.” The fact is that Christ's blood atoned for sins and reconciled us to God, but it is his resurrection that brings salvation.

1 Peter 3:21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also — not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ
Rom 5:10 For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!

What is the gospel? Is it that Christ died for our sins to offer salvation or is there more to it than that? Paul tells us that the gospel includes three important events.

1 Cor 15:3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures

One of the most favored evangelical passages explains what a man must do to be saved. It is Romans 10:9. What does it tell us we must do to be saved?

Rom 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved .

We must believe that Christ was raised from the dead, because it is his resurrection that saves. His death on the cross is only part of the gospel message. The fact that Christ died to atone for the sins of every man does not mean he meant to save every man. In fact we are told he died for all men. There are too many passages that make that clear.

John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Rom 6:9-10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
Heb 7:27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
Heb 9:26 Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But now he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.
1 Tim 2:3-6 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men-the testimony given in its proper time.
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.
Isa 53:6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Christ died for every man, but it is clear only those who believe the gospel will be saved. The father gave to Christ, not those whom he died for, but those whom believed in his resurrection.

2 Tim 2:8 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel
1 Peter 1:21 Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.
2 Cor 5:14-15 For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
Rom 4:25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
