Charles C. Ryrie does an exceptional job showing that a literal systematic way of reading and studying the Bible is helpful in understanding the dispensations as revealed in Scripture. He outlines the history of dispensationalism and from a historical perspective answers many of the objections people have. But most importantly, he helps us understand that the doctrine of salvation never changes in any dispensation, that we are saved by grace and mercy alone in all ages. I feel this is one of the best books to read as a companion to the Bible. It helps us understand the revelation of God in all ages. We highly recommend it; especially since this doctrine of dispensationalism has been under recent attacks from Hank Hanegraaff on the Bible Answer Man Show.
